Biography
:

Abrams has worked for the past two seasons as Director of Player Personnel for the Ontario Hockey League's Kingston Frontenacs. For the past four seasons has also served as the Director of Scouting and Recruiting for the Central Canada Junior A champion Wellington Dukes of the Provincial Junior A League. The Dukes were coached for those years by former Lumber Kings star Marty Abrams, the newly appointed Head Coach of the OHL's Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds.

Kevin began his Junior A coaching career with the Metro Junior League's Kingston Voyageurs in 1985 and became the winningest coach in club history over the next six seasons. During his final two seasons in Kingston, Abrams was an Assistant Coach and Head Coach for Team Ontario, capturing Ontario's first ever gold medals at the 1991 Canada Games and the 1992 World Under 17 Championships respectively.

In 1992 Abrams added the Assistant Coach role to his Director of Player Personnel duties with the Belleville Bulls of the OHL, a position he had held during his final two years in Kingston.

In 1994 Abrams and brother Marty became principal owners and operators of the CJHL's Smiths Falls Bears and led the team to consecutive first place divisional finishes and received all star recognition for first team General Manager and second team Coach.

In 1996 Abrams' expansion Metro Junior A Quinte Hawks set league records for expansion teams with a 34-13-3 record en route to the league final. That same year saw an OHL record 14 players drafted from one Junior 'A' team as the youngest team in Canada made its mark. That team included new Lumber Kings owner Sheldon Keefe. Abrams then served as an Assistant Coach and Assistant General Manager with the OHL's Sudbury Wolves in 1997 and 1998.

Abrams reputation for player development and advancement is among the best in the province. In the past seventeen years, over 100 Major Junior, over 70 college, and dozens of NHL players have been coached, managed or drafted by Abrams.
